Housing Assistance
The Tulsa Higher Education Consortium offers two distinct housing programs to support students experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity: Housing Navigation and Rapid Rehousing.
Housing Navigation is a shared service available to all students at our nine member colleges and universities. This program provides one-on-one assistance to help you explore your housing options, whether you’re looking for short-term solutions or long-term housing. Our housing navigators can help you with things like finding affordable rentals, one-time financial assistance, and connecting with other resources. Referrals to the Housing Navigation program can be made via email, phone call, or text message communication with a Housing Navigator.
Rapid Rehousing (RRH) is a partnership with A Way Home for Tulsa and The Center for Housing Solutions Tulsa, made possible by the Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program (YHDP) grant. This program is for youth experiencing homelessness and provides financial assistance and support services to help youth quickly move into a new place and maintain housing. Referrals to the RRH program must occur through the community-wide Coordinated Entry System. (CES).
What does the research say?
According to national studies, 13-14% of students at two- and four-year institutions may experience homelessness at some point in their higher education careers (National Center for Homeless Education, 2022; National Study of Basic Needs Insecurity in Higher Ed., 2017)
