Communities of Practice serve a primary role of collaboration with THE Consortium and help drive innovation and strategy among member institutions. Through regular cooperation and communication, THE Consortium’s Communities of Practice enable educational, operational, and fiscal advantages made possible through wide-spread collaboration. Additionally, this approach enables higher education professionals to develop and share expertise to foster an environment of knowledge-sharing and problem-solving.

FAFSA and Financial Aid

The FAFSA and Financial Aid Committee of Professionals (CoP) brings financial aid professionals, advisors, secondary school staff, and representatives from public service organizations. Our aim is to facilitate discussions on updates in Federal, State, and Local financial aid policies and practices while strategizing on effective ways to promote and support student financial aid applications.

Institutional Research

The Institutional Research community of practice is collaborating with Asemio to develop data sharing policies and protocols. These policies and protocols focus on student outcomes in specific areas, including enrollment, transfer, persistence, and degree completion. Currently, the group is preparing for their second data pull. This data pull will eventually lead to the creation of a publicly accessible data dashboard. This dashboard will highlight student trends in northeast Oklahoma.

This group is made up of international student personnel who discuss relevant legislative updates, cultural competency and assimilation, and how to best support successful international students.

The LGBTQ+ Committee of Professionals (CoP) is comprised of higher education faculty and staff dedicated to enhancing outcomes for LGBTQ+ students and fostering an inclusive campus culture. We actively engage in discussions surrounding legislation and policy affecting LGBTQ+ students or higher education. Additionally, we serve as a peer-support group, welcoming all who are interested in our mission.
